What is Photography?

The word Photography literally means drawing with light, derived from an ancient Greek meaning of Photo, light and graph meaning to draw. Photography is the process of recording an image or photograph on light sensitive film or in the case of digital photography via a digital electronic or magnetic memory.

Purpose of Photography

Essentially the purpose of photography is to communicate and document moments in time. Take a photograph and share it with others to show a moment that was frozen through a picture. That moment can tell many things, from the environment to what actually happened that day.

Why are Photographs so powerful?

Photography speaks to the best and most generous part of our human nature, which is the desire to share what we find beautiful and exciting with others. Images are much more than a simple record.

Why Photography is exciting?

Photography is the perfect way to preserve one’s important milestones. Life is full of both sad and great moments such as Birthdays, Weddings, Graduations, Anniversaries, nature and beautiful wildlife and family vacations. And the list goes on and on.

Photography does impact our lives.

Yes, a photograph can inspire us, it can change someone’s views, it can shake us, Someone’s ideals, educate and actually inspire others to act. They make invoke natural reactions or innermost emotions such as fear, anxiety and many more.

Photography as a Passion.

My photos show my unique thought process and my interpretation of the world around me. I love preserving my work and showing people the peck through my eyes as well as new perspectives on life. I can do Photography as a part time that I can combine with other hobbies or passions quite easily.

Photography as a Talent.

Photographing things you love and doing it very well probably makes it a talent. For a studio photographer, it is about skill, for a sports photographer it is a skill and for a photo journalist it is both skill and talent.
